What's Happening

October 13, 2026, Adrian, Michigan – As we enter the quieter season when animals, birds, and plants tend to hibernate, writers at every level of experience are encouraged to look at what encourages their inner ponderings. The next Writer’s Workshop, Winter’s Invitation, is planned for 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2026. Participants will spend time together writing, sharing their just-written work, and learning about the strengths of their writing. 

The workshop is facilitated by Sister Tarianne DeYonker, OP, MSW, a Dominican Sister of Adrian and a certified leader of Amherst Writers and Artists workshops. 

The workshop is offered in-person at Weber Center or via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent before the workshop. The cost is $35, and registration is required. Visit www.webercenter.org and click on “programs,” call 517-266-4000, or email [email protected]. Limited scholarships are available.

Weber Center is on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters Motherhouse, Adrian, Michigan. October 5, 2026, Adrian, Michigan – A writing workshop offered by Weber Retreat and Conference Center focuses on moments in our lives when, like the autumn leaves, we undergo changes, moving from one season to another.

The workshop, As Leaves Are Falling, is being planned for 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Weber Center. The hybrid program – in person or via Zoom – offers writers at all levels of experience the opportunity to write about a time in their lives when they faced changes and to share their just-written work with the rest of the group.
