Sister Ann Ziemba, OP

Sister Ann Ziemba, formerly Sister Ann Romana and baptized Bernadine Ann Ziemba, died on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Michigan. She was 87 years of age and in the 70th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sister Ann was born in Detroit to Roman and Anna (Turczyn) Ziemba. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Adrian and obtained a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in reading, both from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian.

Sister Ann ministered for more than 46 years in education in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Chicago, Loves Park, and Homewood, Illinois; and Escanaba, Iron Mountain, Wayne, Livonia, Detroit, Westland, and Dearborn Heights, Michigan. She served for nine years as registrar for the Dominican Literacy Center in Detroit, a legacy institution of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. Sister became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in 2025.

Sister Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gerald Edwards. She is survived by other loving family members and her Adrian Dominican Sisters.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in the gathering space of St. Catherine Chapel. The Vigil Prayer will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in St. Catherine Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Catherine Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Prayers of Committal will be held in the Congregation Cemetery.
