July 14, 2025, Adrian, Michigan – Sisters Mariane Fahlman, OP, and Esther Kennedy, OP, offer A Practical Guide to Healthy Aging from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Weber Retreat and Conference Center. The workshop is offered in person and through livestream.

The workshop highlights the vital relationship between physical activity, nutrition, cognitive health, and mindfulness and includes practical strategies to reduce stress and promote overall wellbeing.

Sister Mariane is a Professor of Kinesiology, Health, and Sports Studies at Wayne State University in Detroit and studies physical function and cognition among those who are 65 and older. Sister Esther is a retreat leader and spiritual director who offers monthly mindfulness sessions at Weber Center.

Weber Center is on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters Motherhouse, Adrian, Michigan. December 19, 2022, Adrian, Michigan – Adrian Dominican Sister Janet Schaeffler, OP, offers an in-person workshop on the spirituality of aging. Let This Be the Time: Reflections on the Spirituality of Aging, is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Weber Retreat and Conference Center.

Sister Janet Schaeffler, OPSister Janet will explore with participants the ways to grow in wisdom and grace, deepening the uniqueness of who we are, enjoying the precious moments we have been given, and continuing to deepen our relationship with God and our many loved ones. The spirituality of aging enables us to be maturing persons of integrity, living in wholeness and holiness.

Former Director of Adult Faith Formation for the Archdiocese of Detroit, Sister Janet leads days of reflection, retreats, parish missions, and workshops and has written several books and articles. 

Participants will be screened for COVID-19 and required to wear masks when not eating.
