"No Mas, No More!" Raise your voice and help shut down the School of the Americas (SOA)! Join the Adrian Dominican Sisters and thousands of others in November at the annual protest of WHINSEC (Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation). Formerly known as SOA, WHINSEC is a U.S. Army school that trains Latin American soldiers in combat, counter-insurgency and counter-narcotics instruction; often used to oppress the poor.

SOA graduates are responsible for uncountable human rights abuses in Latin America, including the assassination of Archbishop Oscar Romero in El Salvador in 1980, and the massacre of six Jesuit priests, their co-worker and her teenage daughter in El Salvador in 1989. Today, violence rooted in the WHINSEC program still troubles Central and South America . Every November, in commemoration of the anniversary of the Jesuits' deaths, thousands of protesters gather peacefully in Columbus, Georgia, at the gates of Ft. Benning to close the SOA.

This year's trip will begin at the Adrian Dominican Sisters Motherhouse on Thursday, November 16, at 10:15 pm where there will be a blessing for the journey. We will return in the early morning of Monday, November 20.
