Seven women declared their readiness to live the Dominican charism as Adrian Dominican Associates in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on October 17. Sisters from throughout the area attended the Mass for Elena Carreras, Wilma Castillo Cedano, Xiomara Mendez Hernandez, Fabiola Reyes de Veras, Marijo Rozycki, Zenaida Taveres de Matos, and Joaquina Villar. Each month for over a year, the women gathered with their mentors Ana Feliz, OP, and Margarita Ruiz, OP, for a day of prayer and study in preparation for Dominican Association. We joyfully welcome these women as the first Associates in the Dominican Republic.

Also welcomed as Associates are John Coleman of Adrian who was accepted November 21; Henrietta Oenbrink of West Palm Beach, Florida, who was accepted October 24; and Josie Bunch, Mary Ann Kinker and Marilyn Charlene Menke, who were accepted October 10 at Catherine House in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
