Sister Sarah Sharkey to Occupy
Seminary’s First Endowed Chair
June 22, San Antonio, Texas – Sister Sarah Ann Sharkey, OP, Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Oblate School of Theology (OST) in San Antonio, will occupy the seminary’s first endowed chair, the Father Frank Montalbano Chair in Scripture.
The chair was inaugurated with a lecture, held at the Oblate Renewal Center and presented by Father Montalbano, based on the Scripture text, “I know him in whom I have believed” (2 Timothy 1:12). On the evening of the lecture, OST President Father Ron Rolheiser, OMI, named Sister Sarah to the endowed professorship, noting the gift that she has been to the seminary since she began teaching Sacred Scripture there in 1995. She has drawn capacity crowds in her evening lecture series at the Oblates’ renewal center.
