Our Corporate Stances are deliberate, public statements and/or action regarding an issue of human concerns, gospel values, and/or societal systems. The stance may be one of assent or one of dissent. Our Corporate Stances are reached through theological reflection, prayer and dialogue by the membership, and taken in a climate of freedom, open inquiry and respect for those holding differing opinions. Our Corporate Stance must be consistent with gospel values and the social teaching of the Church; be just in nature, non-violent in principle and intent; responsibly consider the consequences; and be consistent with the Dominican charism. A Corporate Stance includes collaborative or social action and proclamation of endorsement or opposition.
