April 10, 2018, Santa Cruz, California Dignity Health Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, California, celebrated National Catholic Sisters Week (NCSW) by displaying the history of the Adrian Dominican Sisters and Associates for all to see. In addition, two Sisters and an Associate were available to talk with employees and offer brochures about various aspects of religious life.

Because Dignity Health is working to increase the awareness of spirituality in the workplace, the Sisters and Associate offered handouts suggesting ways to practice contemplation or reflection. People accepted this information enthusiastically as they stopped by the display table.

People who stopped at the table learned about religious life and the Adrian Dominican Sisters. Many people asked questions about religious and Associate life and asked the Sisters and Associates suggested questions that were printed on cards on the display table. Young women were encouraged to consider religious life, and women and men were invited to be an Associate.

The NCSW display increased awareness of the Sisters ministering at Dominican Hospital, the need for spirituality in the workplace, and the opportunity offered by Associate Life as a way to become involved in the Adrian Dominican ministry.
