Chicago, Illinois -- The Adrian Dominican Sisters were honored as McKinley Park Civic Association’s Educators of the Year. Forty-three Sisters, along with staff, volunteers, and friends of Aquinas Literacy Center participated in the celebration, held March 13 at Polonia Banquets in Chicago.

All of the Adrian Dominican Sisters were recognized at the celebration, from the Sisters who founded the Aquinas Literacy Center to those who pray for the continued success of the Center and the Sisters who serve as volunteers.

Currently, 11 Adrian Dominican Sisters are in active ministry at Aquinas Literacy Center, serving as greeters and hospitality volunteers, office assistants, English as a Second Language tutors, small group facilitators, and members of the Board of Directors. In addition, all of the Sisters serve as mentors to the staff.

Aquinas Literacy Center is proud to be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
