April 19, 2024, Chicago – Members of the inaugural Regina Dominican High School robotics team, “The Regina Riveters,” placed 35th out of 50 teams in the March 28-30, 2024, Robotics Midwest Regional. The Riveters made an impressive showing. Not only is it extremely uncommon for a team to compete in the regional during its first year, but Regina Dominican also fielded the only all-girls team in the competition.

The “Regina Riveters” made their fellow Panthers proud by receiving the 2024 Rookie Inspiration Award for the Midwest Regional. This award celebrates a rookie team’s outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering and engineers within their school and community.

The Regina Dominican community is extremely proud of the 2024 Regina Riveters for their outstanding commitment to their team and their overall gracious professionalism. These students overcame tremendous adversity and faced obstacles with a growth mindset from start to finish.

Rooted in the Dominican tradition, Regina Dominican High School challenges young women to be independent thinkers, relentless truth-seekers, and confident, compassionate leaders. Regina Dominican is located at 701 Locust Road in Wilmette, Illinois. For more information, call 847-256-7660.
