May 30, 2023, Adrian, Michigan – Siena Heights University recently signed a partnership agreement with Detroit Promise, a last-dollar scholarship organization that ensures all eligible Detroit residents have a tuition-free path to an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or technical certificate at participating institutions. As of May 2023, Siena Heights University is one of those institutions.

The agreement was spearheaded by Siena Heights University alum and admissions counselor Darius Price. “We are excited about the partnership we have established with the Detroit Promise,” Darius said. “This gives us the opportunity to expand our reach to the city of Detroit in a more effective way. We want students to know we are here to invest in the success of their future!”

In the agreement, Siena Heights University ensures that all eligible Detroit students can receive $1,000 in scholarship for both the residential campus in Adrian, Michigan, as well as for SHU Global, the university’s nationally recognized online program. The scholarship can also be applied to the university’s new Workforce Development program, which allows individuals to earn specific certifications in a variety of subjects to help expand their education, develop their skills, and advance their careers.

“Siena Heights is thrilled to partner with Detroit Promise,” said George Wolf, Vice President of Enrollment. “We have an extensive history in the Detroit area with our residential program and SHU Global – and now, with the addition of the Workforce Development Program, we get to see more great graduates come through our colleges. This agreement is another way we can help our students succeed, and we are excited to see them do so.”
