Mother Camilla Madden, Mother General of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, opened St. Ann Academy in West Palm Beach in 1933 at the invitation of Bishop Patrick Barry. St. Ann eventually was renamed Rosarian Academy. Mother Camilla Madden’s successor, Mother Gerald Barry, was the sister of Bishop Barry.
Rosarian Academy’s new Mary Alice Fortin Building includes a four-story administrative, classroom, and library facility in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida. The new building will provide the centerpiece of the Academy's campus. Mary Alice Fortin gave millions of dollars to health care and educational facilities in Florida and Montana over the past 30 years; she died in 2007.
St. Ann’s Parochial School in West Palm Beach was founded by the Adrian Dominican Sisters in 1933. The school’s name has since been changed to Rosarian Academy.
