Barry University in Miami, founded by the Adrian Dominican Sisters in 1940, boasts welcoming, well-manicured grounds.
Cor Jesu Chapel, the heart of Barry University, is surrounded by towering palm trees and beautiful flowers.
The Barry family played a key role in the histories of both Barry University and the Adrian Dominican Sisters who founded the college. The idea of building the school was conceived of by the Most Reverent Patrick Barry, Bishop of St. Augustine, and his sister, Mother Mary Gerald Barry, Prioress of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. They received support from their brother, Monsignor William Barry, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Miami Beach.
The chapel at Barry University is the scene of numerous liturgies and prayer services.
Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, a program of Barry University, is located in Orlando, Florida.
