Our Name
The Congregation name is Adrian Dominican Sisters. (For formal reference, our name is Sisters of St. Dominic, Congregation of the Most Holy Rosary.)
Our Symbol
The Congregation symbol is another identifying element. It was originally designed by Barbara Chenicek, OP, and Rita Schiltz, OP. The symbol is not to be modified, altered, nor redrawn by hand or computer.
The symbol consists of three parts: the outline, the field, and the wedge.
The symbol can be reproduced in two ways:
2-color (black outline with field of color)
When the symbol is printed in two colors, it consists of a black outline, an open, or "paper" wedge and the colored field. The field is composed of two parts, the sienna/brown color (PMS 153) with flecks of white and an overprint of 10% black in a fine line screen.
This is the only way the symbol is to be reproduced in two colors.
1-color (without the field of color)
Our Logotype
The name Adrian Dominican Sisters is printed in the typeface Helvetica anytime it is used with the symbol. The logotype is a combination of the Adrian Dominican Sisters symbol and typeface. The placement of the type with the symbol is illustrated.
Any time the Congregation name is not appearing with the symbol, as in running copy, it should appear in the same typeface as the rest of the copy.
