May 29, 2019, Adrian, Michigan – Sister Magdalena Ezoe, OP, pianist, offers her June concert in the First Sunday Music Series at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019 at St. Catherine Chapel. 

The concert features Prelude II for Piano by George Gershwin (1898-1937); En Route “Let’s Go,” a whirlwind piece by Selim Palmgren (1878-1951) of Finland; and Chopin Medley I, with many popular themes from Hollywood movies, arranged by Sister Magdalena. 

Born in Tokyo, Sister Magdalena came to the United States to study at Barry College (now University) in Miami, Florida, where she met and later joined the Adrian Dominican Sisters. She taught music for 37 years at Siena Heights University and has composed and published parts of the Catholic Mass, hymns, chamber music, and music for the organ and the piano. 

All are welcome to this free concert. St. Catherine Chapel is on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian. Enter the Eastern-most driveway of the complex and follow the signs to the Dominican Life Center.

May 14, Adrian, Michigan – United Movement for Peace invites all people of faith and of good will to its Holy Hour for Peace from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019, in St. Catherine Chapel at the Dominican Life Center of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. 

United Movement for Peace has been initiated by the Light of Church community in Deerfield, Michigan, in collaboration with the Adrian Dominican Sisters Adrian Crossroads Mission Chapter and the Congregation’s Office of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation.

St. Catherine Chapel is on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian. Enter the Eastern-most driveway of the complex and follow the signs to the Dominican Life Center.
