December 3, 2015, Paris, France – In an article written for the National Catholic Reporter’s Global Sisters Report, Sister Elise García, OP, notes the “high expectations” of many participants of the Paris climate summit. Some of this is attributed to the influence of the non-credentialed civil society members, who present “side events” on the issue of global climate change. Among those side events was a presentation by members of the indigenous Sarayaku people, who have a special vision to address climate change. Read Sister Elise’s full article.

November 12, 2015  Sister Patricia Siemen, OP, founder and director of the Center for Earth Jurisprudence, is profiled in a recent issue of The National Catholic Reporter’s Global Sisters Report (GSR) for her long-time involvement in environmental ethics. She is one of a number of women religious to be interviewed in the GSR article on the connection between social justice – traditionally seen as dealing with human issues – and environmental justice.
