In Memoriam


Sister Therese Reynolds, baptized Mary Jane Therese, also known as Sister Therese Marcel, died on July 5, 2018, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Michigan. She was 82 years of age and in the 63rd year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sister Therese was born in Norway, Michigan, to Montague and Therese (Sciez) Reynolds. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School and received a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian and a master’s degree in music education from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.  

Sister spent 22 years ministering in education in Joliet and Hometown, Illinois and in Iron Mountain and Gladstone, Michigan. She was a Music Minister at St. Mary and St. Joseph, Iron Mountain, for six years; the Coordinator for Liturgy and Music at All Saints in Gladstone for 18 years; and a Musician/Liturgist at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Neenah, Wisconsin, for 11 years. 

Sister Therese became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in Adrian in 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents and survived by a brother, Marcel Reynolds, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, and a sister, Dorothy Waldbillig of Fairfax, Virginia.

Welcome of Sister Therese will be on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in the Dominican Life Center lobby. The Wake will follow from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. in the Rose Room. The Reception of the Body and Vigil Prayer will be at 7:00 p.m. in St. Catherine Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Catherine Chapel on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. Both the Vigil Prayer and the Funeral Mass will be live streamed. The Rite of Committal will be in the Congregation Cemetery.
